Øresund Space Collective (ØSC), formed in 2004, is a totally improvising Scandinavian space rock band and has been releasing albums since 2006. The band has played concerts & festivals all over Europe. Their music is quite diverse and influenced by the ever-changing line up in the collective. The material on this LP was recorded in October 2010 on the 2nd day of recording and features a lot of different musicians from days 1 and 3. A lot of the material has a funky nature, but it is a very diverse album with a nice chillout sitar number and a lot of space rock!! Some of the tracks have been edited for the vinyl edition. |

Øresund Space Collective (ØSC), formed in 2004, is a totally improvising Scandinavian space rock band and has been releasing albums since 2006. The band has played concerts & festivals all over Europe. Their music is quite diverse and influenced by the ever-changing line up in the collective. In 2010, ØSC played the Bat Cave at the Roadburn Festival, Tilburg, Holland. It was a fantastic show and SRP released this as a double vinyl LP (SRP003) that has long been sold out. In 2021, Dr Space did a totally new mix of this concert, which includes the full show. One song, "Jam for Tobias", was not included on the double LP. In addition, a friend of the band, Anders, had filmed the show from the back of the hall and this has never appeared anywhere before. This has been sync´d with the new audio (Thanks Larry) and is included on a DVD! Enjoy this archive show in a new digital mix and video. ... there are some skips in the amazing first jam on the original hard disc recording, sorry .... |

Gas Giant were the premier psychedelic stoner rock band from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band was previously known as ‘Blind Man Buff’ but in 1999 changed their name to Gas Giant. The album “Portals of Nothingness” was recorded in 1999 but never officially released by the band as they were not really satisfied with the recordings. This LP features early versions of several songs that the band would later rerecord on other records like “Never Leave this Way” and “Fire Puppy” (later renamed “Fire Tripper”), both which appeared on the Split LP with WE. In 2020, Stefan Krey (guitarist), updated the sound of the record and added additional guitar parts to beef up the sound. This is the first time the music has been released on vinyl and CD (some CD-Rs were produced and sold on tour in the early 2000s, perhaps 50 copies exist). An absolute stoner rock classic that has now finally been set free! Enjoy the ride .... The players: Thomas Carstensen - bass / Peter Søderquist - drums / Stefan Krey – guitars / Jesper Valentin - vocals Recorded, produced & engineered by Mads Veje Hansen and Gas Giant Various parts re-recorded, remixed & remastered at Area 22 Studios by Stefan Krey Artwork by Stefan Krey / layout by David Graham |

Dr Space (also known from 'Øresund Space Collective', 'Black Moon Circle', ‘Doctors Of Space’) made these improvisations during March & April 2020 and primarily feature the Novation Ultranova with extra layers added with the modular synthesizer or ARP Odyssey. The idea with these improvised tracks has been to keep it simple and spontaneous. Not to be too layered but to be emotional and in the moment and to try to capture a feeling. Roedelius takes a similar approach. Tracks were recorded direct to Logic and mixed & mastered by Dr Space at Estúdio Paraíso Nas Nuvens, Portugal with sonic advice from Hasse Horrigmoe. Øresund Space Collective (ØSC), formed in 2004, is a totally improvising Scandinavian space rock band and has been releasing albums since 2006. The band has played concerts & festivals all over Europe. Their music is quite diverse and influenced by the ever-changing line up in the collective. The music on this album was recorded during the October 2008 sessions that gave us the “Dead Man In Space” & “Slip Into The Vortex” releases. “Sleeping With The Sunworm” is a 56 minutes space rock jam (originally released on CD in 2011), which is split into three parts for ease of play. It starts very slow heavy and spacey with a massive sound, before the track heads into new directions with some beautiful guitar. An up-tempo section develops after ca. 15 minutes and features some intense guitar & synthesizer interaction. Due to an out of tune synthesizer, a new synthesizer section was overdubbed by Mogens. Magnus also replaced one of his guitar sections but other than these two small sections it is a completely improvised piece of music. Now, after a bit more than 10 years it is finally out on vinyl ! As an added bonus (on vinyl only), a jam from the same sessions, which we had some technical issues (the guitar tracks were missing after the first couple of minutes), has been resurrected and Greg Kozlowski (Architectural Metaphor) was kind enough to make a series of synth and guitar overdubs. This track is called “Awaken”. The Players: Magnus - space guitar, synth / Stefan - space guitar / Jocke – bass / Kaufmann - drums & percussion / Dr Space - synths / Mogens – synths / Greg Kozlowski - guitar & synths (Side D) Recorded and mixed at the Black Tornado studio. “Awaken” mixed by Dr Space Mastered for vinyl by Dr Space and sonic advice from Hasse Horrigmoe Artwork & layout by David Graham |
